Dual-screen Yota3 coming later this year (update)
Update: According to Engadget, Yota3 will feature 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED display, 5.2-inch E ink touch display at the back, Snapdragon 625 chip, 4GB RAM, 12MP/13MP cameras, USB Type-C (No 3.5mm audio jack) and 3200mAh battery. It will ship with Nougat.
The YotaPhone was one of the first smartphone to feature two displays: one the usual color screen on the front, and the other an E Ink display at the back to show various information like weather, notification, time, etc. or you can just set a wallpaper. It released in 2013, and a follow up, YotaPhone 2 with improved design and performance was out in 2015.
Now the Russian smartphone maker is all set to release Yota3. Yota Devices at the China-Russia Expo in Harbin announced that Yota3 will hit the market later this year, and revealed some details.
Much like its predecessors, the Yota3 will have two display, a color screen on the front, and an lower power E-Ink display on the back. The base model with 64GB storage will carry a price tag of about $350, and the 128GB storage model will cost $450.
In terms of specifications, the Yota3 is expected to comes with 5.7-inch Full HD AMOLED display/ 5.5-inch E-Inks display at the back, quad-core Snapdragon 820 processor, 3GB/4GB RAM, 13MP/5MP cameras, and 3500mAh battery. It will ship with Android Nougat on-board. However, these are not the final specifications and may change.
According to sources, the YotaP3 will be available in China in September, and will be up for pre-order in Russia, at the same time. It will also launch in global market as well. In China, the device will not have Google Play Services, as it is banned in the country, but it will come pre-installed with popular services like Baidu search engine and WeChat messenger.
