Sharp X1 Android One smartphone has a big battery

Around this time last year Japan got its first Android One smartphone, Sharp Aquos 507SH, and was first in Google's initiative to boast IPX5/IPX8 and IP5X ratings for water and dust resistance. Now Sharp is back with a new Android One device for home market.

The Sharp X1 comes with mid-range specs, that you would expect from Android One devices. It comes with 5.3-inch Full HD IGZO LCD display, and is powered by Snapdragon 435 processor aided by 3GB RAM and 32GB inbuilt-storage.

It gets 16.4MP rear camera with LED flash and 8MP wide-angle camera for selfies. It has a fingerprint scanner at the front, USB Type-C port to transfer data or charge, and a beefy 3900mAh battery that is rated for up to four days of usage.

Like Sharp's previous Android One offering, the Sharp X1 is also water and dust-resistance. It supports FeliCa, a contactless payment for Android Pay and runs Android Nougat and will get direct software update from Google.

The Sharp X1 will be available in Japan through carrier Y! mobile in White, Dark Purple and Mint Green colors.
