Garmin launches Fenix 5 series, Forerunner 935, vivosmart 3, vivofitjr fitness wearables in India

World's leading fitness brand Garmin has launched a bunch wearables in India. These include the Forerunner 935 watch, Fenix 5 series of multi-sport GPS watches , and two activity trackers: vivosmart 3 band and vivofitjr smart bands for kids. 

Fenix 5 series multi-sport GPS watches: Fenix 5, Fenix 5S and Fenix 5X
The watches are aimed at outdoor enthusiasts like runners, cyclists, swimmers, golfers and hikers. These watch includes Garmin's Elevate wrist heart rate technology that measures heart rate at wrist continuously, and can track activities like calories burned, steps taken, sleep patterns and more. They also feature 3-axis compass features 3-axis compass as well as gyroscope and barometric altimeter. They are also Wi-Fi enabled and compatible with Connect IQ that lets you customize the watch face, add data fields and widgets that provide information.

The Fenix 5 is a 47mm amd promises two weeks of battery life in smartwatch mode and 24 hours in GPS mode; The Fenix 5S is a 42mm watch designed for females and promises battery life of eight days in smartwatch mode and 13 hours in GPS mode; The Fenix 5X is a 51mm watch with advanced mapping capabilities. It can deliver 12 of battery life in smartwatch mode and 20 hours in GPS mode. Other features are same as Fenix 5. 

Forerunner 935 smartwatch
It is targeted towards triathlon athletes who focus on performance and results. The smartwatch is equipped with GPS and Elevate wrist-based heart rate technology. Additionally it includes built-in sensors for altimeter, barometer and compass, as well as built-in multi-sport tracking for hiking, trail running, sking, paddle sports, golf and more. It also includes performance monitoring tools to improve the athletes performance, and advanced dynamics for cycling and swim training.

The Forerunner 935 smartwatch is waterproof for up to 50 meters, and promises up to 24 hours of battery life in GPS mode, up to 50 hours in UltraTrac battery saver model, and up to two weeks in watch mode. 

vivosmart 3 activity tracker
The fitness wearable has an ultra-slim design and a hidden OLED display, that's only on when you need it. The hidden display is visible when activated via gestures, alerts or notifications, and when not in use the screen disappears. It is equipped with Garmin's Elevate wrists heart rate technology to provide 24x7 heart rate monitoring, and iscapable of automatically tracking activities like steps, floors climbed, calories burned, intensity minute sleep and more. It also features smart notifications vibration alerts for emails, texts, calls, calendar reminders, app alerts, social media update from a compatible smartphone to keep users connected on the go. The wearer can also control music on their smartphone or send an alert to locate a misplaced smartphone.

The wearable comes with high-end fitness monitoring tools such as VO2 max and fitness age, and wellness monitoring with all-day stress tracking. It also include a new Strength Training activity that keeps track of reps, sets and even rest times during user’s free weight and body-weight exercises. It boasts battery life of up to five days and is waterproof, so you can wear it while swimming or showering. 

vivofitjr
It is a fitness activity band for kids (ages four to nine) with a kid-friendly design, that's comfortable, durable, swim friendly and boasts a battery life of over one year. It is capable of tracking steps, sleep patterns and recommended 60-minute daily play goal. It sports a sunlight readable display, and the watch face tells time, includes the date and even reminds kids to stay active with a move bar. It can also be personalized to include a child’s name.

vivofitjr also comes with a parent-controlled mobile app. From the app, parents can add multiple children and see their daily activity, responsibilities, sleep and more when the vívofit jr. automatically syncs to their smartphone. It also includes helpful tools for parents to motivate kids, who can assign responsibilities and agreed-upon rewards for completed tasks.
