Ulefone Armor 2 with rugged design, 6GB RAM announced


China based device maker Ulefone has officially introduced Armor 2, the successor of last year's Armor. Similar, to the predecessor, Armor 2 is a rugged smartphone boasting IP68 water and dust resistance, and the structural gaps has been filled with waterproof adhesive tapes and sealing rings. The company claims it can survive underwater for a depth of up to 1-meter for 24 hours.

It 's body is made of flexible TPU, glass fiber reinforced polycarbonate and metal, and has protective nubs that covers the four corners of the device for protection from drops. It is also resistant against extreme temperatures with working range from -40℃ and 80℃. Apart from a rugged body, it also boasts powerful hardware.

In terms of specifications, the Ulefone Armor 2 has a 5-inch Full HD display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection, and is powered by 2.6GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P25 processor further aided by Mali T880 GPU and 6GB RAM. It comes with 64GB on-board storage, which is expandable via microSD card, and boots Android Nougat.

For photography, the Armor 2 sports 16MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, and 8MP front shooter for selfies. Connectivity options are dedicated dual-SIM slots, 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, NFC and USB Type-C. A 4700mAh battery runs the show.

Other features include fingerprint sensor, PTT button, SOS button, shutter button and a Barometer sensor for measuring air pressure and altitude in real time.

The Ulefone Armor 2 is expected to carry a price tag of $269.99 (Rs. 17,000), and will go on pre-sale from August 15 in Dark Grey and Golden colors.
