Gionee M7 with FullView display, Helio P30, 6GB RAM announced


Gionee is the latest smartphone maker to go bezel-free, and join the likes of vivo, Huawei and Micromax. The Chinese device maker at an event in China announced the latest member of 'M' line up - M7. It also introduced Big Gold Steel 2, which will launch as M7 Power in other markets next week starting with Thailand. 

As expected the latest M7 and M7 Power flaunts near bezel-less design with minimal bezels for a full screen display offering an aspect ratio of 18:9. The new phones also pack dual-cameras and beefy battery capacity. They run Android Nougat based Amigo OS 5.0 and have a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Speaking of Gionee M7 first, the company's new flagship features 6.01-inch Full HD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) FullView AMOLED display and is powered by 2.3GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P30 processor, backed by Mali G71 MP2 GPU and 6GB RAM. It comes with 64GB internal storage, which can be expanded via microSD card.

The camera department includes 16MP f/1.8 camera and a secondary 8MP camera at its rear that works together to capture depth information for bokeh effects. For selfie there's 8MP front facing camera. Connectivity options include hybrid dual-SIM slots, 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and NFC. It sips juice from a 4000mAh battery to run.



The Gionee Big Gold Steel 2 / M7 Power is a toned down version of M7. It features 6-inch Full HD+ FullView display, and is equipped with octa-core Snapdragon 435 processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB of expandable storage and a beefier 5000mAh battery. It comes with 13MP rear camera and 8MP front facing camera.

The Gionee M7 has been priced at CNY 2799 ($422 | Rs. 27,500) and will go on sale starting tomorrow, September 26 in Sapphire Blue, Star Blue, Maple Red, Black and Champagne Gold colors. The Big Gold Steel 2 will be available from September 30 for CNY 1999 ($300 | Rs. 20,000) in Blue, Black and Gold colors.
