Huawei Watch 2 series with GPS, NFC, heart rate monitor launched in India
Huawei introduced the Android Wear 2.0 powered Huawei Watch 2 series at MWC 2017 earlier this year. And now the smartwatch has been launched in India. It will be available in three models: Huawei Watch 2 Sports priced at Rs. 20,999, Watch 2 Classic at Rs. 25,999, and Watch 2 Sports 4G at Rs. 29,999.
All Huawei Watch 2 models have the same hardware, but the Watch 2 Sports 4G will support cellular connectivity, which will be provided by a nano-SIM card slot to enable data connectivity or to make and receive phone calls. The addition of cellular connectivity, enables Huawei Watch 2 4G model to function as a standalone device including use of third party apps like Facebook, Uber and more, without the need of smartphone.
They also come with different bands. The Watch 2 Sports models have a sportier look, and comes with rubber strap, whereas the Watch 2 Classic sports stainless steel bezel and leather straps for a more premium and stylish look.
The Huawei Watch 2 series boast high-end features like GPS, NFC, IP68 water and dust resistance, and real-time heart rate zone information, including dynamic heart rate monitoring and zone indicators. They also have built-in smart sensors to collect data on users daily activity like distance traveled steps taken, speed, calories burned and more.
As for the other specs, the watches comes with 1.2-inch (390 x 390 pixels) AMOLED Gorilla Glass 3 display, Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100, 768MB RAM, 4GB internal storage, WiFi, 4G LTE and Bluetooth. They are fueled by 420mAh battery, that's rated to last up to two days with regular use, up to 10 hours in 'training mode' and up to three weeks in 'watch mode'. The watches are compatible with devices running Android 4.3 or higher, and iOS 8.2 or up.
The Huawei Watch 2 series (Classic, Sports (BT), Sports (4G)) will be available online exclusively on Amazon India. The Watch 2 Classic and Watch 2 Sports 4G will also be available via offline stores as well.
