Logitech brings back trackball mouse

The trackball is making a comeback with Logitech's latest wireless mouse called MX Ergo. It is a typical mouse with left and right buttons, and a scroll wheel, but users have to control the on-screen mouse cursor using the finger operated giant trackball, instead of moving the mouse using hand, wrist and arms.

Logitech says that MX ERGO reduces muscular strain by 20 percent compared to using a standard mouse. It has an adjustable hinge, which allows users to adjust the angle of the ball from 0 to 20 degrees which improves wrist posture. It also has advanced tracking technology, allowing faster and more precise navigation of the mouse cursor.

The mouse sports a button to enable advanced tracking and precision mode, which will be indicated by a white LED light; and a mouse wheel with tilt functionalities. The button behind the mouse wheel is for Logitech Easy-Switch, that lets users switch the mouse between two computers. However to use this function, you'll have to download the Logitech Flow software.

It connects to a PC via 2.4 GHz wireless dongle or Bluetooth and packs 500mAh rechargeable battery that lasts up to four months on a full charge, depending on usage.

The Logitech MX Ergo has been priced at $99.99 and is now available for purchase in the U.S from Logitech.com and select retail stores.
