Xiaomi India's first dual-camera offering will be Flipkart exclusive and called Mi A1
Xiaomi is all set to unveil its first dual-camera smartphone in India tomorrow (September 5). Earlier it was speculated that Xiaomi will launch the Mi 5X in the country, however, Xiaomi shot down the rumor by releasing a teaser that said "Introducing a new series by Xiaomi."
Now just a day before the launch event, the company has revealed that it will sell the device exclusively on Flipkart. A product page dedicated to the device is also live on the e-commerce website. And the source code of the product page reveals the device will be called Xiaomi Mi A1.
The Xiaomi Mi A1 is reportedly said to be an Android One device, and will ditch MIUI in favor of Stock Android software, the one you experience in Motorola, Nokia and Micromax devices. This also means you'll get the benefit of regular software and security update. The addition of Xiaomi to Google's Android One Program will give it a big boost, given the brand's popularity in the country. While most of the Android One ship with out-dated specs, Xiaomi will offer top-notch specs at and affordable price tag. However, Xiaomi is yet to confirm this report, so a pinch of salt is advised.
As for the specs, the Xiaomi Mi A1 is expected to come with 5.5-inch Full HD display, Snapdragon 625 processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage, dual-cameras, dual-SIM slots, 4G VoLTE support, fingerprint scanner and a massive battery.
As mentioned earlier, Xiaomi India's first dual-camera phone (Mi A1) will launch tomorrow, so we don't have to wait too long to know all the official details.
