Archos Diamond Omega with bezel-less 18:9 screen, 8GB RAM announced

French smartphone manufacturer Archos has introduced the company's first ever top end flagship device dubbed Diamond Omega for European market featuring bezel-less 18:9 screen and dual front & rear cameras.

That said, the phone is a rebrand of the recently unveiled nubia Z17S, so Diamond Omega has the same design and specs sheet. This the not the first time, Archos has taken this route. Earlier this year Archos unveiled two mid-range nubia devices under its branding for the European market.

Speaking of Diamond Omega, similar to nubia Z17S, the handset sports 5.73-inch Full HD+ IPS display with 18:9 aspect ratio for a near bezel-less design, and the screen has a layer of Gorilla Glass to keep scratches at bay. The screen occupies more than 85 percent of the the front panel, so the fingerprint scanner, which is usually embedded into the home button, is now at the back.

It equipped with Snapdragon 835 processor, 8GB RAM, 128GB internal storage and 3100mAh battery. It gets 23MP Sony IMX318 f/2.0 sensor with 2x lossless zoom + 12MP Sony IMX362 f/1.8 sensor at its rear camera department, while for selfie there's 5MP dual sensors that work in tandem and can blur the background of captured images. It runs Android Nougat based nubia UI 5.0 and supports USB Type-C port and Quick Charge 3.0. Color options are Black and Blue.

The Archos Diamond Omega has been priced at 499.99 Euros, and will be available in Europe in the second half of 2017.
