MIUI 9 stable nightly update rolling out for Mi Max 2 in India


Xiaomi will introduce the highly anticipated global MIUI 9 stable ROM, along with the launch of Redmi Note 5A in India on November 2, following which, the global roll out will begin for compatible devices.

Now ahead of the release, Xiaomi is rolling out MIUI 9 (V9.0.1.0.NDDMIEI) OTA update for Mi Max 2, in the from of nightly build. Xiaomi calls it a beta Stable release before the final update. The update brings optimization, bug fixes and couple of new features, that's mentioned below:

New
  • Shortcut for Split screen in Recent
  • New display formats for update logs in Updater
  • Search for apps in the Dual apps settings
  • Mi Picks gets a new name and a new icon! Meet Apps!
  • Battery usage – Switch for turning Battery saver automatically when charged
  • Quick ball now goes back to the edge after 3 seconds of inactivity
Optimization
  • Media volume can be turned back on using volume buttons in DND mode
  • Floating notifications are restricted by default in DND mode
  • Improved timers for Silent/DND
  • Protection from unintentional tapping for Dialpad
  • Redesigned home page)
  • Devices with range Bluetooth profiles are hidden in the device list
  • Security – Simplified and improved the design of the virus scan result page 
Fix
  • Android security patch level was shown with the wrong date
  • Scanner couldn’t work normally
The update is 546MB in size, and is available for select users randomly, while the stable build is likely to roll out for all users soon, once the test is complete.
