Airtel-Celkon launches 4G smartphone at an effective price of Rs. 1,349
Earlier this month Airtel introduced "Mera Pehla 4G smartphone" initiative, under which it will partner with various device makers to launch affordable Android based 4G smartphones. The first such handset came in collaboration with Karbonn (A40 Indian), and now the initiative is getting another addition.
After Karbonn, Airtel has teamed up with Celkon to launch Celkon Smart 4G Android handset with VoLTE support at an effective price of Rs. 1,349.
However, it will be available after a down payment of Rs 2,849, with Rs. 1,500 going towards security deposit, which you will get back after three years. In addition, you'll have to do 36 continuous monthly recharges of Rs. 169. The plan offers offers unlimited voice calling and 500MB of 4G data per day for 28 days.
The Rs. 1,500 will be refunded in the form of cashback in two stages after you make a minimum recharge of Rs. 6,000. You need to recharge the number for a minimum of Rs. 3,000 for the first 18 months to get the first refund of Rs. 500, and to claim the remaining Rs. 1,000, you'll have to make another Rs. 3,000 recharge for the next 18 months.
Speaking of the Celkon Smart 4G, the dual-SIM entry-level handset runs Android Marshmallow, and features 4-inch 800 x 480 display, 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage expandable via microSD card, 3.2MP rear camera with LED flash, 2MP front camera and 1500mAh battery. It also as Bluetooth and WiFi, and comes pre-loaded with apps such as Airtel TV and Wynk Music.
The Celekon 4G smart wiill be available to buy at all leading mobile stores across the country. Just like the Karbonn A40 Indian, customers don't have to return the Celkon 4G Smart to the company after a a period of three years.
