OnePlus 5T with bezel-less design incoming

For quite sometime there has been rumors floating around the web about a new OnePlus 5 model. To remind you, the OnePlus 5 was launched earlier this year, and boasted all the specs, you did expect from a 2017 flagship. However, it had a design that is now outdated.

Most of the flagship this year from Apple, Samsung, Google, LG and HTC, as well as mid-range phone (Micromax, vivo, Oppo, Gionee) have adapted to a bezel-less design. This means the phone have no bezels at the side, and the upper and lower chin bezels are slimmer compared to regular smartphone. Now OnePlus wants a piece of the action.

Rumor has it that OnePlus 5T is on the way, and it will have bezel-less design. The timing of the rumor is perfect because last year in November OnePlus unveiled the OnePlus 3T, a slightly upgraded version of OnePlus 3, with Snapdragon 821, and upgraded camera.

While OnePlus is yet to address the rumors, Evan Blass has hinted at arrival of OnePlus 5T with 18:9 display in late November.

Today he even shared an official looking press render showing the upper part of the OnePlus 5T as well, all but confirming the device exists. And to no surprise it will have a bezel-less design similar to Oppo's upcoming flagship R11s.

Moreover, the home button/fingerprint scanner, which is found on all of OnePlus' smartphone below the display is getting an axe due to the bezel-less design, and the fingerprint scanner on the OnePlus 5T will be placed at the rear panel.

Apart from the new design, the OnePlus 5T is also expected to get upgraded camera, bigger display, and higher resolution screen, as per benchmarks, while the rest of the specs being same.

According to AnTuTu, like the original model, the new OnePlus 5T will feature Snapdragon 835 processor, up to 8GB RAM and up to 128GB internal storage. But instead of 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display, the OnePlus 5T is expected to have 2160 x 1080 pixel display, which means it will have 18:9 aspect ratio. The display size was not listed but it is expected to be around 6-inch.

The listing further reveals that OnePlus 5T will have dual 20MP cameras, which is an upgrade from the dual 16MP camera on OnePlus 5.

According to rumors the OnePlus 5T will be unveiled on November 16, but Blass claims that it will be introduced end of November. The latter is likely to be the time frame, when OnePlus 5T hits the market.
