Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2017) voice calling tablet launched in India for Rs. 17,999


Samsung is launching a mid-range voice calling tablet in India called Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) for Rs. 17,999. The tablet runs Android 7 Nougat, and supports 4G LTE connectivity and voice calling function.

The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) sports 8.9mm thick metal body that weighs 364g, and includes Samsung's signature home button and menu button below the screen, however, there is no fingerprint scanner. It comes with a a feature called "Home Mode", which displays information like calendar, weather, date and more on the screen when the tablet is charging. You can even personalize the screen with personal photos as well.

In terms of specifications, the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) features 8-inch WVGA (1280 x 800 pixels) TFT display and is powered by 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon 425 processor, backed by Adreno 308 GPU and 2GB RAM. It has 16GB internal storage, which can be expanded via microSD card. The camera department includes a f/1.9 8MP rear camera with LED flash and 5MP front facing camera.  A 5000mAh battery will run the show, that's rated to deliver up to 14 hours of video playback.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2017) comes in Black and Gold colors, and will be available from Samsung India eStore and partner retail stores across the country. There's also an optional Book Cover for the tablet, that will be available separately at Rs. 2,499. Samsung's 'Never Mind' offer is also applicable for the Galaxy Tab A (2017), under which customers are guaranteed one-time screen replacement, within one year from date of purchase at just Rs. 990.
