Xiaomi launches the bezel-less Mi MIX 2 in India for Rs. 35,999
The bezel-less Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 has arrived in India, and we will be getting the Black + 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model. It has been launched in India for Rs. 35,999 and will be exclusively available on Flipkart and Mi.com starting October 17. It will also be available offline via Mi Home and partner retail stores across the country from November first week. There will also be 0 percent interest EMI scheme across all platforms.
At the said price the Mi MIX 2 will be competing with HMD's Nokia 8 and OnePlus 5. All these phones have the same specs, but Mi MIX 2 gets the innovative bezel-less design as an additional feature.
Design
The Mi MIX 2 has been designed by notable French designer Philippe Starck and has even more slimmer bezels than the Mi MIX. It has zero bezels at the top and edge, and the bottom chin's bezel has been reduced by 12 percent than its predecessor. While the Mi MIX had a screen-to-body ratio of 87 percent, the Mi MIX 2's screen-to-body ratio is a whooping 95 percent.
Just like Mi MIX, the main components of Mi MIX 2's front panel like ear piece, sensors, speaker and camera has been designed to fit the bezel-less design. It sports a ceramic body and uses Cantilever piezoelectric ceramic acoustic system that allows the sound to be delivered by the screen for calls. It also has hidden sound guided speaker with 50W high power speaker and sound guided tube, and ultrasonic proximity sensor on the top. The front facing camera is located at the bottom chin, and is slightly smaller than the one found of Mi MIX.
Specifications
The Mi MIX 2 is not only eye-catching, but is also more very powerful in terms of performance boasting Qualcomm's top-tier chip.
It features 5.99-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with 18:9 aspect ratio and is equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform, 6GB and 128GB internal storage. The camera department includes a 12MP Sony IMX386 camera with f/2.0 aperture, 4-axis OIS, dual-tone LED flash and 4K video recording. The selfie shooter on the front is a 5MP sensor. In addition to the rear mounted fingerprint scanner, the Mi MIX 2 gets 3D facial recognition for id-ing the face to unlock the device. For software, the Mi MIX 2 runs Android 7.1 Nougat based MIUI 9, and for connectivity supports dual-SIM slots 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS and USB Type-C.
