Airtel-Karbonn outs A1 Indian, A41 Power ultra affordable 4G VoLTE handsets


Airtel's 'Mera Pehla 4G smartphone' initiative is getting two new additions. The telecom operator has once again teamed up with Karbonn to launch the A1 Indian and A41 Power ultra- affordable 4G VoLTE enabled Android handsets.

The Kabonn A1 Indian and A41 Power have an effective price of Rs. 1,799 and Rs. 1,849 respectively. However, you'll have to shell out an extra Rs. 1,500 towards down payment, which will be refunded after 36 months. This will take the price of the A1 Indian and A41 Power to Rs. 3,299 and Rs. 3,349 respectively.

The Rs. 1,500 amount will be refunded in two stages: Rs. 500 after 18 months, and the remaining Rs. 1,000 after the completion of 36 months. Do note that, you'll have to make a minimum recharge of Rs. 6,000 during the 36 month period to get the full refund amount. The base recharge plan available is of Rs. 169, which gives you unlimited voice calls and 500MB of 4G data per day for 28 days. Also, there is no need to return the handset to claim the cash back.

The Karbonn A1 Indian and A41 Power have dual-SIM slots and run Android Nougat. This means you'll have access to Play Store and will be able to download and install essential apps like YouTube (pre-installed), WhatsApp, Facebook, FB Messenger, mobile wallet apps, online shopping apps as well as low-end games. The inbuilt 8GB storage, should be more than enough to store these apps. There's also microSD card slot for storage expansion.

As for the other specs, the Karbonn A1 Indian has 5-inch display, 1.1GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 3.2MP/2MP cameras and 1500mAh battery. The A41 Power offers 4-inch display, 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 2MP/VGA camera and 2300mAh battery. Both come pre-loaded with Airtel apps like MyAirtel, Airtel TV and Wynk Music.

The handsets will be available via offline mobile stores, as well as online on Amazon India.
