HTC U11 U.S version will get Android Oreo on November 27


Earlier this month, HTC started rolling out Android Oreo for the flagship U11 in its home market Taiwan. Now the Taiwanese device maker has announced that the it will begin global roll out of Oreo starting with the U.S on November 27.

In the U.S the unlocked variants will first get the update later today, followed by carrier-locked units, but the time-frame was not revealed.

HTC's VP of Product Management Mo Versi took to Twitter to make the announcement “Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. The Oreo OS update will be available for download on the HTC u11 unlocked version starting on Monday! Enjoy!,” 

He also confirmed that HTC 10, HTC U Ultra and Ull Life will also get the Oreo update soon. Again the exact roll out date is not known.

As a reminder, Android Oreo brings new features like Picture-in-Picture (PiP), notification channels, adaptive icons, notification dots, smart text selection, Autofill API and more.
