Kobo upgrades storage of the waterproof 7.8-inch Auro One from 8GB to 32GB


Kobo is upgrading its premium waterproof 7.8-inch Aura One eReader with a new model, that offers 4X more storage.

While the 2016 model shipped with 8GB internal storage and a price tag of $230, the new Kobo Aura One houses 32GB internal storage, which means you can store more eBooks. Obviously! According to Kobo the device can store up to 28,000 eBooks or up to 700 manga (Japanese comic) titles. Apart from increased storage, the rest of the features are unchanged.

The new Kobo Aura One has 7.8 1827 x 1403 E Ink Carta display with pixel density of 300ppi, Kobo's front-lighting system with "ComfortLight Pro" for reducing blue light, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and microUSB port. There's no microSD card support.

It is also water resistant with an IPX8 certification, which means in can survive up to 2 meters of water for 60 minutes. The eBook reader supports a range of formats including EPUB, PDF, MOBI, JPG, PNG, GIF and more.

The 32GB Kobo Aura One has been priced at $280, and will be competing with Amazon's all new $250 Kindle Oasis eReader. It will be available in late November/early December.
