Two years after the release of the waterproof GlowLight Plus eReader, Barnes & Noble has come out with new model dubbed NOOK GlowLight 3.
The NOOK GlowLight 3 features 6-inch E Ink 300 dpi display with front light technology that can change colors of the screen to make reading more comfortable in the dark. It comes with 8GB internal storage, and has physical buttons for turning page.
The eReader includes WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, microUSB port, and packs in a battery, that is rated to deliver 50 days of run time on normal usage. It supports ePub, PDF, JPG, GIF, PNG, BMP, Adobe DRM ePub and PDF files. Unfortunately, it does not have microSD card slot and waterproofing.
The NOOK GlowLight 3 is now up for pre-order at BN.com/NOOK for $120, and will be available in the U.S starting November 8 via Barnes & Noble stores.

Kobo is upgrading its premium waterproof 7.8-inch Aura One eReader with a new model, that offers 4X more storage.
While the 2016 model shipped with 8GB internal storage and a price tag of $230, the new Kobo Aura One houses 32GB internal storage, which means you can store more eBooks. Obviously! According to Kobo the device can store up to 28,000 eBooks or up to 700 manga (Japanese comic) titles. Apart from increased storage, the rest of the features are unchanged.
The new Kobo Aura One has 7.8 1827 x 1403 E Ink Carta display with pixel density of 300ppi, Kobo's front-lighting system with "ComfortLight Pro" for reducing blue light, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and microUSB port. There's no microSD card support.
It is also water resistant with an IPX8 certification, which means in can survive up to 2 meters of water for 60 minutes. The eBook reader supports a range of formats including EPUB, PDF, MOBI, JPG, PNG, GIF and more.
The 32GB Kobo Aura One has been priced at $280, and will be competing with Amazon's all new $250 Kindle Oasis eReader. It will be available in late November/early December.

Amazon is refreshing its top of the line Kindle Oasis eReader with a new model that has a big display and is the first to be water proof.
The new Kindle Oasis sports 7-inch e-ink display, compared to 6-inch screen in the predecessor. The display still has 300 pixels per inch, which Amazon says will offer text just as sharp as before. The addition of IPX8 rating means the eReader can withstand immersion in up to 2m of water for up to 60 minutes.
The design is same as the previous model with hand grip that has physical buttons to turn the page. It has the same thickness of just 3.4mm at the thinnest point and is slightly heavier at 194g. It also features an accelerometer, that allows the screen to rotate automatically to 180 degrees, so that the button will be on both left and right sides.
It supports Bluetooth, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and 3G, and comes with the storage option of 8GB and 32GB storage. It promises up to six weeks of battery life on a single charge.
The new model for the first time also gets Audible audio service integration, so you can listen to audio-books and easily switch between reading and listening on Bluetooth headphones or speakers.
It is also getting new software feature like additional font sizes bold settings, and new accessibility options (enlarged display, invert back & white on the display and more). These features will be rolled out to other Kindle devices, that were released in the past four years.
The new Kindle Oasis has been priced at Rs. 21,999 ($299.99 in the U.S) for the 8GB/WiFi model and Rs. 28,999 ($349.99 in the US) for the 32GB/WiFi/3G model. It comes in Black color, and is now available for pre-order in the on Amazon India, while shipping begging November 15. Amazon is also selling water-safe fabric covers in Indigo, Charcoal and Sandstone color at Rs. 2,999, and premium leather covers in Black and Merlot for Rs. 3,999.
Kubo has announced an upgraded model of its popular waterproof Aura H20 eReader, which was launched back in 2014, with an improved screen and more storage.
Like the original model the new Kubo Aura 20 sports 6.8-inch (1430 x 1080 pixels) Carta E-inch touch display but gets an anti-glare screen, that will make it easier for readers to read in direct sunlight. It also has ComfortLight Pro, which reduces blue-light exposure from the screen throughout the day, so you can read even longer without it affecting sleep.
The device comes with 8GB of storage, and can store up to 6,000 eBooks, but ditches the microSD card slot. The processor inside ensures that page turns are quick and seamless. It supports WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and a microUSB port and promises a week of battery life.
It is waterproof thanks to IPX8 rating, which means it can be safely submerged in up to two meters of water for as long as 60 minutes.
The eReader comes with a feature called TypeGenius, that gives readers the option to choose what suits them best, such as weight and sharpness setting, as well as the ability to choose from 50 font sizes and 11 font types. In addition, they can adjust margins, highlight passages, write notes, or look up a word with the built-in dictionary, all by just tapping a finger.
The new Kobo Aura H20 is priced at $199.99 CAD in Canada and $180 in the US and will be available from company website and select retailer starting May 22. It will also be available in the UK, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Spain, Belgium, Switzerland, Japan and Turkey. In June it will be available in Sweden, followed by Australia, New Zealand and Philippines in July, and Mexico and Brazil by end of the year.
