Huawei's sub-brand Honor has strated rolling out Android Marshmallow based EMUI 4.0 update for its Honor 5X handset in India.
The update is being rolled out over-the-air via HiCare app in Asian regions including India and is also available for international models as well (KIW-L22C675B130, KIW-L22C675B150, KIW-L22C675B310). The update brings the usual Marshmallow goodies such as battery-saving Doze mode, App Permissions, Google Now on Tap, performance improvements and system stability. Other non-Marshmallow features include smart contact groups, screen recording feature, 4-second message delay, compass app, contact sharing via barcode reader and updated Huawei Swype keyboard.
The Honor 5X is priced at Rs. 12,999 and offers, premium metal body, 5.5-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 615 SoC, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, 4G LTE, fingerprint scanner, dual-SIM slot and 3000mAh battery.
Huawei sub-brand Honor has launched the Honor 5X in India. The Honor 5X is the successor to the one of the most popular Honor 4X that was launched in India last year.
It is priced at Rs. 12,999 and is now available for pre-order on Flipkart and Amazon India, and will go on sale from February 1. It comes in Gold and Silver, and Huawei is offering 15-month warranty and one month LCD replacement warranty with the handset.
The Honor 5X sports a premium metal body and comes with 5.5-inch 1080p IPS display, Snapdragon 615 SoC with Adreno 405 GPU, 2GB RAM, 16GB expandable storage, 13MP rear with dual-LED flash & 5-megapixel front snapper, 4G LTE and 3000mAh battery. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with EMUI 3.1 on top and is equipped with Fingerprint 2.0 technology, which is said to unlock the device in just 0.5 seconds. The sensor is placed on the rear panel below the camera.
