Google Conquest Times Square With The World's Largest Display
Google has decided to do things in style, creating interactive advertising bigger than ever: an entire city block, covered with a display resolution of 2368 x incredible 10,048 pixels which is powered by Mitsubishi Electronics.
It is the longest screen that has never hosted and begins to work on Monday. It measures 23.46 meters high and 100.28 meters long and covers an entire block (at 1535 Broadway, between 45 and 46t.)
Besides showcasing company product, Google will present an interactive game for Android phones, where users can create version of themselves inspired by Android, through the application or website (androidify.com) which is then displayed on the screen and can be printed in merchandising, such as mugs or t-shirts. You can also use your character to play on the big screen. There are several options of games, where one can play soccer balls or swimming across the screen. Google aims to display 25,000 personalized Android characters on the screen every day.
If you are planning a visit to New York, know that advertising will remain there until January 31. The main use that Google will make for is the promotion of its products, but apparently will also devote its time to non-profit organizations such as Charity Water, Khan Academy and WWF (World Wide Fund).
