CES 2015 : Sony Unveils The New Walkman NW-ZX2
Japanese electronic giant Sony unveiled a new digital music player - Walkman NW-ZX2 at CES 2015, Las Vegas.
The Sony Walkman NW-ZX2 resurrects the iconic brand, first introduced in July 1979, with a 128GB capacity and 60-hour battery life. The new Walkman "can reproduce master quality recordings just as the artists originally intended," the company said in a news release.
Sony's also calling it the 128GB Walkman Hi-Res Digital Music Player, and it comes with a microSD card slot
The Sony Walkman NWZ-ZX2 features a 4.0-inch FWVGA Triluminos display and runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with access to Google play. The walkman supports wide range of files including MP3, WMA, AAC, DSD, WAV, AIFF, FLAC, Apple Lossless and more with 192 kHz/24 bit.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC and Micro-USB. Other features include ClearAudio+, Clear Bass, DSEE HX (Digital Sound Enhancement Engine), S-Master HX digital amplifier and VPT. The Sony Walkman NW-ZX2 measures 131.2x65.1x18.5mm and weighs 235 grams.
The modern makeover of the Sony Walkman is no longer a low-cost music player as it comes with a hefty price tag of $1,200 (Rs. 76,000). The Walkman will go on sale during Spring 2015.
