Samsung Galaxy E5 And Galaxy E7 Launced In India

Besides the previously announced Galaxy A3 and A5 metal-bodied smartphones in India, Samsung also unveiled two new smartphones in its brand new Galaxy E-series - The Galaxy E5 and Galaxy E7. India is the worlds's first country to get the Galaxy E5 and E7 smartphones. Samsung says that the Galaxy E-series smartphones feature unibody design and offers "superior viewing and best selfie experience" and is targeted at the youth segment.

The Samsung Galaxy E5 and E7 features a 'Hybrid Dual-SIM, which allows the second SIM slot to be used as microSD card slot. Both handsets can capture wide-angle selfies and take the shot using palm gesture and voice commands.

Coming to the specs, the Galaxy E5 features a 5-inch Super-Amoled display and is powered by an unspecified 1.2Ghz quad-core processor, paired with 1.5GB RAM and 16GB inbuilt storage [microSD card support upto 64GB]. It ships with Android 4.4 KitKat.

Camera features include an 8-megapixel rear autofocus camera with LED flash and 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Connectivity features include 3G (HSPA+), Wi-Fi, Micro-USB 2.0, Bluetooth 4.0, and A-GPS/ GLONASS. The handset is backed by 2400mAh battery.

The Galaxy E7 features  5.5-inch Super-Amoled display and is powered by an unspecified 1.2Ghz quad-core processor, paired with 2GB RAM and 16GB inbuilt storage [microSD card support upto 64GB]. It ships with Android 4.4 KitKat.

Camera features include 13-megapixel rear autofocus camera with LED flash and 5-megapixel front camera. Connectivity features include 3G (HSPA+), Wi-Fi, Micro-USB 2.0, Bluetooth 4.0, and A-GPS/ GLONASS. The handset is backed by 2950mAh battery.

Vodafone will offer 2GB of 3G data for two months to Galaxy E5 and E7 buyers. The Samsung Galaxy E5 will be available in Black, White and Blue colour variants. The Galaxy E5 and Galaxy E7 are priced at Rs. 19,300 and Rs.23,000 respectively and will go on sale starting January 20.
