Google Expands Android One Program To Indonesia

Google announced that it will launch its Android Initiatve in Indonesia soon. After India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sril Lanka, Indonesia has become the fifth country to receive Android one smartphones. Google announced the news on its Asia Pacific Blog. However, Google has not yet announced the release date of the Android One smartphones in the country.

Google revealed that Evercross, Mito and Nexian will be its OEM partner for Indonesian market. Interestingly The Android One smartphones launching in Indonesia will run Android Lollipop 5.1.
The three Android One smartphones that will launch in Indonesia are Evercross One X, Mito Impact and Nexian Journey. All three smartphone features 4.5-inch FWVGA displays, 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage [microSD card support], 5-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front facing camera, dual SIM support and 1700mAh battery. The devices will be priced IDR 1.5 million (Rs. 7350)

In addition, Google has tied up with Indonesian telecom Telkomsel and will offer reduced data cost for Android One handsets. As promotional offer, Android One user will receive free over-the-air updates and free 200MB data for six months to download app from Google Play store.
