Jide's Remix tablet offers PC-like productivity, now on Kickstarter
China based Jide announced the Remix tablet earlier this year in January. The tablet is already available in the Chinese market.
Now Jide wants to sell the tablet around the globe and for this reason the company has started a Kickstarter campaign that lets people from the US, Canada, Australia UK and most European countries order the tablet.
When the kickstarter campaign kicked off for the Remix tablet, 355 units were made available for just $39, 200 units for $199 and 500 units for $349 for early backers. Not surprisingly, the $39 and $199 tables have been sold out.
Right now, you can buy the $349 tablet and the device will start shipping from May.
The Remix tablet runs a custom version of Android 4.4.2 dubbed RemixOS that runs Android in a Windows-like manner (resembles Microsoft's Surface Pro 3) with multi-windows support for better multitasking, taskbar and file manager to enhance mobile productivity.
Coming to its specs, the Remix tablet features 11.6-inch (1080x1920 pixels) full HD IPS touchscreen display. The tablet is powered by an 1.81GHz NVIDIA Tegra4+ A15 processor paired with Tegra GPU GeForce ULP72.
It houses 2GB DDR3L RAM, 64GBemmc intenal stoage and microSD card slot (up to 128GB microSD card supported.
Camera features include 5-megapixel rear and front facing camera with duo mics for optimal video conferencing. The camera support 1080p full HD videos. It is backed by a 8100mAh battery. The tablet also comes with detachable keyboard and a kickstand.
For those who don't know Jide is a Chinese company based in Beijing which was founded last year by three former Google engineers. The company unveiled the Remix tablet earlier this year at CES 2015, Las Vegas.
