Neptune Suite is a Smartwatch, phone, tablet, keyboard, dongle and wireless earphone set
Canada based Neptune unveiled Neptune Suite on crowdfunding website Indiegogo. The suite is a system of devices consisting of Neptune Hub, Pocket Screen, Tab Screen, Keys, Dongle and Headset. that seamlessly integrates with each other.
Neptune Hub (smartwatch) - It is device that you wear on the wrist. It features 2.4-inch OLED LCD touchscreen, quad-core processor, 64GB storage, Android 5.0 Lollipop and 1000mAh battery. It supports 3G/LTE, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and NFC and is water resistant.
Neptune Hub allows you to make calls, send messages, stay connected with your social networks, track fitness stats, and much more. It also features contact slide that can access any recent contact in a single action, by simply sliding your finger. The Hub will be available in three sizes - S, M, L.
The Hub is the brains (OS, apps and processing power) behind the operation. The idea here is that you will need one smart device - 'Neptune Hub' on your wrist to store data and apps - with the option to use whichever display accessory works best depending on the needs. It is meant to be the main computing device of the package. It will remain on user's wrist and wirelessly beam the visuals into the dumb screens.
Pocket Screen - It is an inteface for the Neptune Hub meant to display information and apps running on the Neptune Hub on the larger screen than the one on your wrist. It is a dummy smartphone that comes with 5-inch capacitive touchscreen, 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 2-megapixel front facing camera. It is backed by 2800mAh battery.
Tab Screen - If you need an even larger screen you can use the Tab Screen. It comes with 10-inch capacitive touch screen, 720p front facing camera and 7000mAh battery.
The Pocket screen and Tab screen are all dumb screens until paired with the Neptune Hub smartwatch. Both can also be used as battery packs for charging the Neptune Hub. Neptune has redesigned the charging cable so it can split off and charge three devices at once using a single wall socket and charger. The Suite also"can easily last multiple days of usage on a single charge without needing to use any wall outlets."
The devices all connect using WiGig technology that provides multi-gigabit speeds of up to 7Gbps.
Neptune Keys - It is a wireless keyboard that can act as a dock for the Tab Screen to provide full laptop experience. It can also be used with the Neptune Dongle.
Neptune Dongle - It is HDMI dongle that plugs to computer monitor or TV and give you a even bigger screen for your Hub.
The Neptune Suite's goal on Indiegogo is to reach 100,000, but currently it is smashing its goal on the crowdfunding site, so far it has raised $879,000.
Neptune plans to sell the suite in the market for $899 and will be made available in February 2016. You can get the suite $300 cheaper if you wish to back the project by pledging $599 (Rs. 39,000) at Indiegogo. Hit the link below to know more.
