Acer Aspire Switch 10, Switch 10 E 2-in-1 notebooks and Aspire R 11 convertible announced

Acer at its at its Next@Acer event in New York on Thursday announced new Switch 10 and Switch 10 E 2-in-1 notebook along with Aspire R-11 convertible. All three run on Windows 8.1 and is supported by Acer for the free upgrade to Windows 10.

The Acer Aspire Switch 10 (SW5-015) comes with Snap Hinges and features 10.1-inch FHD (1920x1200 pixels) IPS display with Zero Air Gap technology and Gorilla Glass 3 back cover. It is powered by Intel-Atom quad-core processors and comes with 2GB RAM and 32GB or 64GB storage. Other features include 2-megapixel front facing camera and 22Whr battery.

The Acer Aspire Switch 10 (SW5-015) prices start at $249 and will be available in North America in August, followed by EMEA regions in June and China in April.

The Aspire Switch 10 E (SW3-013)  features 10.1-inch HD (1280x800 pixels) IPS display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection and is powered by Intel-Atom quad-core processors. It comes with 2GB RAM and storage options include 32GB or 64GB. It comes with 2-megapixel front and rear camera and is backed by 30Wh battery that provides up to 12 hour of battery life in one charge.

The Aspire Switch 10 (SW3-013) prices start at $279, available in North America in mid-July, followed by EMEA regions in May and China in April.

The Acer Aspire Switch 10 and Switch 10E has a magnetic detachable design for latch-free docking and can be used in four modes - notebook, tablet, tent and display. They also come with Dual-front facing stereo speakers, two USB 2.0 ports, micro HDMI port, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Keyboard docks with options hard drives supporting up to 1TB and Microsoft Office 365 personal pre-loaded.

The Acer Aspire R 11 features 11.6-inch HD (1366x768 pixels) touchscreen display with Zero Air Gap technology, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and a 360-degree hinge that lets users setup the laptop in different modes as per their position. It is powered by Intel Pentium processor with Intel HD graphics and supports up to 8GB DDR3L RAM and up to 1TB of HDD. Other features include Acer's Crystal Eye HD webcam, built-in SD card reader, USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports, full sized HDMI and VGA ports and TrueHarmony audio speakers. It offers a battery life of up to 8 hours on single charge.

The Acer Aspire R 11 comes with Acer BluelightShield feature that effectively reduces eye strain by reducing blue light emission from screen. It provides four modes - Low reduction (Reduce blue light emission from LED backlit module by 18%), Mid reduction and High reduction (blue light emission reduced by 36% and 54% respectively) and Long Hour Mode (reduce eye strain over extended periods).

The Acer Aspire R 11 will be available in North America in July with prices starting at $249, followed by EMEA regions and China in June.
