ZTE Nubia Z9 with Bezel-Less display announced in China
ZTE has announced the company's long-awaited flagship smartphone dubbed Nubia Z9 in China. The Nubia Z9 was in the news for the last couple of months and over the period the device was leaked and teased. Now the smartphone is official and we have the specifications.
The ZTE Nubia Z9 comes in three variants - Classic Edition with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage, Elite Edition with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. The third variant also comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage along with Tio (three in one) fingerprint recognition technology present in the power key and volume key that unlocks the smartphone with a simple touch.
The ZTE Nubia Z9 features 5.2-inch (1920x1080 pixels) Full HD UPS 2.5D curved glass display with bezel-less design. Under the hood there is a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor (4× 2GHz A57+ 4×1.5GHz A53) paired with Adreno 430 GPU. It runs Android 5.0 Lollipop with nubia 3.1UI on top.
Camera features include 16-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash, Sony IMX234 Exmor RS sensor, f/2.0 aperture and 6P lenses. The front side is equipped with 8-megapixel camera with Sony IMX179 Exmor R BSI sensor and 80-degree wide viewing angle
Conncetivity features include dual-SIM support, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.1, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band), GPS, MHL 3.0 and USB OTG. A 2900mAh battery fuels the ZTE Nubia Z9. It measures 147.4mm by 68.3mm, is 8.9mm thick and weighs 192 grams.
The ZTE Nubia Z9 Classic Editon (3GB RAM + 32GB internal storage is priced at 3,499 Yuan ($565 | Rs 35,900), Elite Edition (4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage) is priced 3999 Yuan ($645 | Rs. 41,000). The top edition (4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage + fingerprint sensors) will cost 4499 Yuan ($725 | Rs. 46,000). Chinese consumers can pre-register for the ZTE Nubia Z9 on the company's official website or Jingdong Mall starting today and the smartphone will go on in the country starting May 21. There are no details on global roll out yet.
