Samsung Galaxy Tab A and Galaxy Tab E launched in India

At an event in Bangalore, Samsung launched Galaxy Tab and Galaxy Tab E for the Indian market. Both tablets comes with SIM card slots and support voice calling. The Galaxy Tab A is compatible with India's 4G network while the Galaxy Tab E supports only 3G.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A features 8-inch (1024 x 768 pixels) XGA LCD display and is powered by 64-bit 1.2GHz quad-core processor paired with 2GB RAM. The tablet comes with 16GB internal storage and microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 128GB. It runs Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Camera features include 5-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front facing camera. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS + GLONASS. It is fuelled by 4200mAh battery, weighs 320g, is 7.5mm thick and comes in Smoky Titanium and White colors. The tablet sports a metal-finish frame and supports wireless charging.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab E features 9.6-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) WXGA TFT display and is powered by 1.3GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1.5GB RAM. The tablet comes with 8GB internal storage, expandable up to 128GB via microSD card and runs Android 4.4 KitKat. 

Galaxy Tab E sports 5-megapixel auto-focus rear camera and 2-megapixel front facing camera. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi, Micro-USB with OTG, Bluetooth and GLONASS. It is fuelled by 5000mAh battery, measures 241.9 x 149.5 x 8.5mm, weighs 490g and comes in Metallic black or pearl white colors.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A is priced at Rs. 20,500 and will be available via online and offline stores by end of the week. It comes with 2GB of free 4G data for two months for Airtel subscribers. Samsung Galaxy Tab E is priced at Rs. 16,900 and will be available exclusively via Flipkart by June-end. It comes with 2GB of 3G data per month for 2 months for postpaid Vodafone customers. Prepaid Vodafone customers are offered 1GB of free data for two months. An optional Book Cover with non-slip fabric style pattern for both the tablets will also be available.
