Samsung Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 edge+ more details leaked; non-removable battery, no microSD card slot
Samsung has scheduled its Galaxy Unpacked 2015 event for August 13. The devices that are expected to be launched in the event are Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+. Ahead of the official unveiling, more details and leaks are surfacing online. This time the Galaxy Note 5 gets a hands on treatment, offering a clear look from almost all angles, while AnTuTu benchmarks reveals some specs and if that is not enough, full spec sheet of both Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ have been revealed by a Chinese media.
First up, the Galaxy Note 5 hands on treatment. As seen in earlier leaks, the Galaxy Note 5 features the same front panel as the Galaxy Note 4. It has a metal-and-glass body with curved back that will offer better grip. The curved rear edges and the S Pen design along with its spring loaded slot are also seen. The photo does not show a microSD card slot and we can see the Air Command feature, that lets you customize shortcut for favorite apps. The charging port will be Micro-USB and not USB Type C. It will have a non-removable battery that has a capacity of 3000mAh. Along with the image, some specs were also outed like 4GB RAM, and three storage variants 32/64/128GB.
Moving on, the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ specs were also revealed via AnTuTu. According to the information Galaxy Note 5 scored 69,702 and Galaxy S6 edge+ (with model number SM-6928F) scored 68,345. AnTuTu reveals that the Galaxy Note 5 features 5.7-inch QHD display with the resolution 1440 x 2560 pixels, Exynos 7420 processor clocked at 2.1GHz, 4G LPDDR4 RAM, 32GB internal storage, 16-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front shooter and Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. The Galaxy S6 edge+ is said to feature 5.5-inch display with 2K resolution, octa-core Exynos 7420 processor, 4GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, 16-megapixel main camera and 5-megapixel front shooter.
The final leak comes from a Chinese media with the full spec sheets of Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+. As per the leaked spec sheet the Galaxy Note 5 carries the model number SM-N9200 and the Galaxy S6 edge+ has the model number SM-G9280.
The Galaxy Note 5 features 5.7-inch QHD (2560 x 1440 pixels) display with pixel density 515ppi. It will be powered by an Exynos 7420 SoC paired with 4GB LPDDR4 RAM and Mali-T760 GPU. On-board storage is 32GB and there is 16-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front shooter. It runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. The Galaxy S6 edge+ on the other hand will come with 5.5-inch display boasting 2K resolution with 534ppi pixel density. Other features include Exynos 7420 octa-core processor, 4GB RAM, Mali T760 GPU, 32GB on-board storage, 16-megapixel main camera and 5-megapixel front facing camera.
Notably, all the specs, leaks and images of Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ correspond with each other, most of them may be true, however since these details have surfaced from unofficial channels, it should be taken with a grain of salt.
