Google Nexus 5X goes official


Google has announced the Nexus 5X smartphone made by LG, the successor of Nexus 5 that was launched back in 2013.

Nexus 5X features 5.2-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS LCD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Inside there hexa-Core Snapdragon 808 (4x 1.44GHz ARM A53 + 2 x 1.8 GHz ARM A57) 64-bit processor clubbed with Adreno 418 GPU and 2GB RAM. It comes with two storage options- 16GB or 32GB, with no option to expand it. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

There is 12-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash, f/2.0 aperture and 1.55µm pixels, and Laser Auto Focus. On the front there is a 5-megapixel camera for taking selfies and making video calls.

On the connectivity front Nexus 5X supports 4G LTE, 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n/c (dual band), Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and USB Type-C. It is fueled by 2700mAh battery. The device measures 146.9 x 72.5 x 9.7mm, weighs 136g and comes in Carbon Black, Quartz White and Ice Blue colors.

Nexus 5X also has a fingerprint sensor on the back, 'Nexus Imprint', which recognizes a fingerprint in less than 1/600milliseconds. It works with Android Pay. There are also two front facing speaker.

The Google Nexus 5X is priced at $379 for the 16GB model and $429 for the 3G model. It will be available for order via Google Store in the US, UK, Ireland and Japan starting today and ships in October.
