HTC introduces new One M9+ with 21MP OIS camera and laser AF

HTC at its 'double flagship' conference, unveiled a new variant of HTC One M9+, dubbed One M9+ Aurora Edition. This variant comes with upgraded camera as compared to its predecessor.

The HTC One M9+ Aurora Edition is equipped with 21-megapixel camera with OIS, anti-shake focus, 26.7mm lens, f/2.2 aperture, dual LED flash and PDAF (phase-detection autofocus). It still keeps the dual-lens design, but the upper unit is no longer a secondary camera, instead, it is a laser auto focus sensor for faster focus. The front-facing 4MP UltraPixel front-facing camera remains the same.

The rest of the specs stay the same. The HTC One M9+ Aurora Edition features 5.2-inch Quad HD (1440 x 2560 pixels) LCD display and is powered by 2.2GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6795K processor with PowerVR G6200 GPU, 3GB RAM and 32GB inbuilt storage. It runs Android Lollipop with HTC Sense UI 7 on top and supports 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/ac/b/g/n (2.4 and 5 GHz), Bluetooth and GPS with GLONASS connectivity.  

Other features include fingerprint scanner embedded in the home button and dual-front firing BoomSound  speaker with Dolby Audio.A 2480mAh battery keeps the phone running. It comes in Gold, Silver, Black and Grey colors.

The HTC One M9+ Aurora Edition is priced at NT $ 20,900 ($630 | Rs. 42,000) and will go on sale in Taiwan starting October 15.
