Lenovo ideapad MIIX 700 laptop-tablet hybrid announced

Lenovo announced a new Windows 10-based hybrid convertible, ideapad MIIX 700 at IFA trade show in Berlin. It has a built-in adjustable kickstand at the rear, stylus for drawing and note-taking and comes with a keyboard dock.

Lenovo calls the MIIX 700's kickstand a watchband hinge, that works in a similar way to the yoga hinges, which lets you align the display portion across various angles. The keyboard apart from being attached to the base of the display can also magnetically snap on to the screen.

Lenovo ideapad MIIX 700 features 12-inch touchscreen display with 2160 x 1440 pixels resolution and can be configured with up to 6th-gen Intel Core m7 (Skylake), 8GB DDR3L RAM and 256GB SSD storage with Intel HD Graphics 515. There is support for storage expansion via microSD card. Camerwise, it sports 5-megapixel front and rear camera. As for connectivity it supports WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 3.0, USB 2.0 and micro HDMI port.

The 5-megapixel rear camera can be replaced with an Intel RealSense 3D camera so users can login to the device using face recognition.

Lenovo ideapad MIIX 700 base configuration, prices start at $699 (without ReaSense camera) and will hit the market starting November.
