HP Star Wars Special Edition notebook will awaken the force
HP in collaboration with Disney and Lucas film announced the Star Wars Special Edition notebook which comes with body graphics and packaging evoking the "dark side". It comes with Star Wars custom screen savers, desktop background, sound profiles and more.
The 15-inch notebook has Full HD screen and comes with the choice of Intel Core i5 or i7 processor with up to 2TB HDD, up to 128GB RAM and with the option to select between Intel HD Graphics 520 and NVIDIA GeForce 940M graphics processors. Also on-board is DVD-RW drive and dual speaker with Bang & Olufsen sound. It runs Windows 10.
The entire body of the laptop is decked out in the theme, including the touchpad. It has a "battle-worn" distressed design with "Galactic Empire" written in the unique Star Wars Aurebesh font on the hinge and iconic Stormtroopers on the keyboard deck. The touchpad design mirrors the X-Wing Star Fighter Guidance System and the red backlit keyboard completes the dark-side design.
It comes loaded with Star wars content. Click the Imperial Cog icon on the desktop to be taken to Star Wars command center for browsing themes and galleries. Users will have access to content collection with over 1,100 images spanning 40 years of Star Wars history including behind the scenes images, storyboards, artwork, classic photos, set and costume design and audio selections.
The Start Wars Special Edition notebook prices start at $699.99 and is expected to be available starting November 8. Pre-orders are now open on HP.com .The notebook comes with a free one-year subscription to Fandor. The $90 / year service, offers tons of independent movies that can be streamed to the notebook.
- Themes offer customizability with sound, wallpaper and screensaver collections. This gives customers the option to replace the standard Windows notification sounds with eight categories of iconic Star Wars sounds including R2-D2 and lightsaber. Customers can choose wallpapers including planetary collections based on movie stills to truly create their own experience.
- Galleries host several categories for customers to explore Star Wars content. Customers can view original movie posters in Collections or explore the Concept Art section to view Lucasfilm art that guided movie development including early ideas on characters, costumes and settings. Illustrated Art celebrates Star Wars with artwork from black and whites to comic book art.
For customizing the Star Wars Special Edition notebook, HP introduced a Special Edition Wireless Moues and a Special Edition Sleeve priced at $39.99 each.
