Gionee S6 with 5.5″ 720p Display, USB Type-C, 6.9mm slim body goes official

Gionee has introduced the S6, its latest smartphone in its home market China. Similar to the previous S series smartphones, the Gionee S6 offers a slim metal body. It measures 6.9mm at its thickest point and 4mm at its slimmest point. It is equipped with a USB Type-C port, and is the second Gionee smartphone after the S Plus to do so.

The Gionee Elife S6 sports 5.5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) AMOLED display and is powered by an 1.3GHz MediaTek octa-core MT6753 processor with Mali T-720 GPU, 3GB RAM and 32GB on-board storage, further expandable via microSD card up to 128GB. It runs Android 5.1.1 with AMIHO OS 3.1 on top.

For imaging, there is 13-megapixel primary camera with LED flash, f/2.0 aperture and Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) that can focus in just 0.1 seconds. It can record up to 1080p videos. In terms of connectivity, it offers hybrid dual-SIM slots, 4G LTE support, USB Type-C port, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS. The hybrid SIM card slot, lets you use two SIM cards or one SIM card and one microSD card. It is fueled by a beefy 3150mAh battery.

The device measures 151.9mm x 74.6mm x 4mm (slimmest point), 6.9mm (thickest point), weighs 147g and comes in Gold and Platinum colors.

The Gionee S6 is priced at CNY 1699 (Rs. 17,500 | $265) and will be available in China starting from November 22.
