Truecaller for Android now shows Caller ID in Hindi


Truecaller has added a new feature called Transliteration to its Android app, which activates real-time Hindi transliteration of the caller ID function. It will run on Android devices that run Truecaller version 6.10 onwards. 

To activate the new feature, you need to go to settings of the app and enable the Hindi language translation option to activate it. Once enabled, the next incoming call will display the caller information in Hindi. The company will be adding, support for other Indian languages as well, in the coming months.

"We realized the importance and relevance of being able to fully explore the potential of our app for the non-English speaking users and decided to offer it as an added feature to them," said Kari Krishnamurthy, vice president, growth and partnerships, Asia and country manager Truecaller India. 

Truecaller currently has 100 million users in India, and is aiming to cross 150 million mark by the end of this year. To achieve this target, Truecaller is focusing on users in Tier I and Tier II cities in the country, keeping this in mind, they introduced the new Transliteration feature.
