Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 with full metal body, fingerprint sensor goes offical
Xiaomi announced its latest Redmi Note series smartphone, the Redmi Note 3 in China. It comes with a fingerprint sensor and sports a full metal body. The phone comes in two RAM/ROM variants- 2GB RAM w/ 16GB storage and 3GB RAM w/ 32GB storage.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 features 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS display and is equipped with octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 (MT6795) processor paired with PowerVR G6200 GPU. It sports 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, f/2.2 aperture and Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF), resulting in a quick focus of just 0.1 second. On the front there is a 5-megapixel shooter. The front and rear camera can record 1080p videos.
It runs on MIUI 7 based on Android Lollipop, has dual SIM slot and supports 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 ac/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS+GLONASS. It packs 4000mAh battery with fast charging support that lets you charge the battery up to 50% in just 1 hour.
The fingerprint sensor is located at the back of the phone below the primary camera. As per the brand it can unlock the device in just 0.3 seconds and can also be used to make payments via Mi Wallet. All this is encased in a full metal body that is just 8.65mm thick and weighs 1564 grams. It comes in Gold, Silver and Dark Grey flavors.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 2GB RAM w/ 16GB storage is priced at RMB 1099 ($140 | Rs. 9.500) and the 3GB RAM w/ 32GB storage is priced at RMB 1099 ($170 | Rs. 11,400). It is now available for purchase in China.
