Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 with Intel SoC breaks cover, also comes in Windows 10 version
In addition to the Redmi Note 3, Xiaomi also announced the Mi Pad successor, the Mi Pad 2. While the Mi Pad was equipped with NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor, the Mi Pad 2 utilises an Intel Atom processor. It runs MIUI 7 based on Android Lollipop, but there is also a Windows 10 version.
Nothing has changed in terms of display, the Mi Pad 2 has the same 7.9-inch display with 2048 x 1536 pixels resolution, but has a full metal 6.9mm slim metal body, instead of plastic. It is powered by a 2.24GHz quad-core Intel Atom X5-Z8500 processor further aided by Intel HD graphics and 2GB RAM. It comes in two storage variants - 16GB and 64GB.
The tablet sports an 8-megapixel primary camera with f/2.0 aperture and can record 1080 videos. On the front there is a 5-megapixel camera. Connectivity wise, it supports WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1 and USB Type-C port. It us fueled by a 6190mAh battery, which supports fast charging. It comes in Dark Grey and Champagne Gold colors.
The Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 is priced at RMB 999 (Rs. 10,400 | $155) for the 16GB storage model and RMB 1299 (Rs. 13,500 | $203) for the 64GB storage model. The Android version is now available for purchase in China. The Windows 10 version will come in 64GB storage only and will be available in China late December for RMB 1299 (Rs. 13,500 | $203). For the home market, China, Mi Pad 2 comes bundled with 60,000 e-books, 58,000 videos and 3,330 games.
