YU Yureka, Yureka Plus start receiving Cyanogen OS 12.1 update

YU has started rolling out Cyanogen OS 12.1 update based on Android 5.1 Lollipop to the Yureka and Yureka Plus smartphone.

The latest OS version entered final testing phase in June, and was expected to roll out soon. But that did not happen. Rahul Sharma Co-founder CEO of YU apologized for the delay as they "wanted to put up something concrete and ensure its worth your wait".

The Cyanogen OS 12.1 update brings superior performance, new features and amazing thermal control for Yureka and Yureka Plus.

New features in Cyanogen OS 12.1
  • Redesigned Launcher: App Drawer and Folders have been redesigned for one-handed use.
  • Smarter Screen: LiveDisplay intelligently adjusts your screen based on environmental conditions.
  • Calendar Together with Email: Enjoy the latest Boxer powered experience where you can seamlessly share your availability and schedule appointments.
  • Fresh AudioFX: The user interface has been updated for consistency across all devices.
  • More Playback support: Substantially increased support of codecs for video and audio playback.
The Cyanogen OS 12.1 update with build number YOG4PAS3JM for  YU Yureka and Yureka Plus will be rolled out in phases over the coming two weeks. If you are impatient, you can manually download the OTA zip from XDA forums and flash it from recovery.

YU also promised to roll out Cyanogen OS 12.1 update to Yuphoria soon.
