Acer Aspire Switch 12 S 2-in-1 laptop packs 4K screen, 3D camera, Thunderbolt 3 port
Acer, apart from Chrome OS products also introduced the Aspire Switch 12 S, a 2-in-1 Windows 10 laptop at CES 2016. Since it is a 2-in-1 laptop, it can also be used as a tablet, and display and tent mode as well.
The Acer Aspire Switch 12 S features a 12.5-inch IPS display with Gorilla Glass 4 protection and comes with the option of Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) screen or and optional 4K (3840 x 2160 pixels) screen. It is powered by Intel Core M processor and come with 4GB/8GB RAM and 128GB/256GB SSD storage. It also supports Acer's Active Pen stylus.
The 2-in-1 laptop gets a 802.11ac WiFi 2 x 2 MU-MIMO, USB-C port, Thunderbolt 3 port, microHDMI out port, 2 x USB 3.0 ports, microSD card reader, HD front facing camera and a rear-facing Intel RealSense array camera.
The Real Sense camera captures movement for 3D models or 3D scanninjg for objects. The front speakers are powered by Dolby Audio and Acer's TrueHarmony. As it runs Windows 10, the 2-in-1 laptop supports Continuum and Cortana.
The Snap Hinge Gold, a latch-less magnetic docking mechanism provides a 6 Gbps data connection between tablet and keyboard and zinc-alloy connectors to charge the key board.
As far as pricing is concerned, the Acer Aspire Switch 12 S prices start at $1000 in North America, €1,199 in Middle-East, Europe and Africe, and CNY 6999 in China. It will be available sometime in February.
