LG's 18-inch OLED display can be rolled up like a newspaper
This year, LG will be taking foldable and bendable display a step ahead. LG has come up with a 18-inch display that can be rolled up like a newspaper.
The flexible OLED panel has HD class resolution of 1200 x 810 and can be rolled up to a radius of 3cm without affecting the function of the display. LG will be showcasing a prototype of the display at CES 2016.
So far the design was only a concept, but now it looks like LG is confident to show it to the audience. This also marks an important moment for displays of TVs, smartphones and tablets. We can expect this display to be used on wide range including rollable newspaper, advertising and signage.
LG will also showcase paper-thin 55-inch OLED TV as well as a 55-inch display that can show images on both it sides. The company is also planning to showcase a 25-inch curved screen display installed on the inside of a car in the Auto Zone and a 10.3-inch “Advanced In-Cell Touch” LCD that can respond to the touch of drivers wearing gloves. However, we can expect these to be concept models.
The new technologies will be introduced under the slogan "Your Imagination, Our Innovation" at CES 2016, Las Vegas. Overall LG's CES 2016 is looking very interesting.
