TP-Link enters smartphone market with the Neffos C5, Neffos C5L, Neffos C5X


TP-Link popular for its networking product has marked its debut into the smartphone market with the launch of Neffos 5 series smartphone - Neffos C5, Neffos C5L and Neffos C5 Max. The most promising phone is the Neffos C5 Max which offers decent mid-range specs.

All three phones run Android 5.1 Lollipop, had Dual SIM slots and supports 4G LTE connectivity along with the other usual connectivity options. (Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi b/g/n and GPS). They come inDark Grey and Pearl White colors.

The TP-LINK Neffos C5L features 4.5-inch FWVGA (854 x 480 pixels) IPS display and is powered by 1.1GHz quad-core Snapdragon 210 processor with Adreno 304 GPU, 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage, further expandable via microSD card up to 32GB. It sports 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 2-megapixel front snapper. A 2000mAh battery keeps the device running.

The TP-LINK Neffos C5 sports a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display and is equipped with 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor, aided by Mali-T720 GPU and 2GB RAM along with 16GB internal storage, which can be topped up to 32GB via microSD card. It has 8-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash, 1080p video recording and 5-megapixel front camera. It is fueled by 2200mAh battery.

The TP-LINK Neffos C5 Max has a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display and is powered by 1.3GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor paired with Mali T720 GPU and 2GB RAM. On-board storage is 16GB, which is expandable via microSD card up to 32GB. It is equipped with 13-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash and can record 1080p videos. Front camera is 5-megapixel. It is fueled by 3045mAh battery.

These phones are expected to be released by the end of Q1 2016 and the pricing will be announced closer to the release.
