ZTE Grand X3, Avid Plus announced for U.S carriers


China brand ZTE has launched two new smartphones for U.S carriers, the Grand X3 and the Avid Plus. The Avid Plus is an entry-level offering, while the Grand X3 is a budget smartphone with USB Type-C port and 4G LTE connectivity support. Both run on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

The ZTE Grand X3 sports a 5.5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) display and is powered by 1.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage, further expandable via microSD card up to 64GB. It is equipped with 8-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front facing camera. Connectivity features include 4G LTE with VOLTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and USB Type-C. It is fueled by 3000mAh battery and supports fast charging. It also features Dolby audio. 

The entry-level ZTE Avid Plus has a 5-inch FWVGA (854 x 480 pixels) display and is powered by 1.1GHz quad-core Snapdragon 210 processor further aided by Adreno 304 GPU and 1GB RAM. The 8GB internal storage can be expanded via microSD card up to 64GB. It has 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 2-megapixel front snapper. For connectivity there is support for 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. A 2300mAh battery keeps the device running. 

The ZTE Grand X3 costs $129.99 (Rs. 8,650) and is exclusive to U.S carrier Cricket Wireless, while the ZTE Avid Plus will head to T-Mobile and is priced $114.99 (Rs. 7,500). Both phones will be available starting January 20 and will head to MetroPCS soon after.
