Google Maps gets improved reviews, no voice call interruptions and more

Google Maps for Android has received a new update, that adds couple of new features brings minor improvements to the app.

Now users will be able to turn off turn-by-turn navigation on Google Maps when they receive a phone call. Earlier, voice guidance for direction used to continue to play in the background when on a call. The turn-by-turn navigation is enabled by default, and user can turn it off by going to Settings > Navigation Settings > Play voice during phone calls.

Another new update feature is the new signage that shows up on the Maps. Now instead of showing the blue line for directions, the update will show names of the streets and exits that you're supposed to turn to.

The update also lets you link your photos and your review. Now when you add a photo for a specific location, they will show up next to previous review of the location you have reviewed. In addition, you can also manually add locations to your Timeline, even the time and date.

The latest update to Google Map bumps the app version to 9.20, and the update is gradual, so it will take some time to hit your device. For those who can't wait you can download the apk file which is signed by Google via APK Mirror.
