Gionee Marathon M5 Plus lands in India, priced at Rs. 26,999

Gionee has launched the battery-cenrtic Marathon M5 Plus in India for Rs. 26,999. The phone will be available via brick and mortar stores across the country in the next few days.

First launched in December last year in China, the Marathon M5 Plus packs a massive 5020mAh battery that offers up to 34 days of talk-time. It also supports fast charging and is rated to charge the device from zero to 100 percent in 117 minutes (1 hour 57 minutes). The phone also has a home button, which doubles as fingerprint scanner, and is capable of unlocking the device in just 0.38 seconds. 

As for the other specs, the Marathon M5 Plus features a phablet-grade 6-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) Super AMOLED 2.5D curved glass display and is powered by 1.3GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor backed by Mali-T720 GPU and 3GB RAM, alongside 64GB inbuilt expandable storage. The camera department gets 13MP rear camera w/ LED flash and 5-megapixel front snapper. The dual-SIM phone runs Android 5.1 Lollipop w/ Amigo UI 3.1 on top and supports 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and USB Type-C connectivity.
