Ivvi i3 with Snapdragon 430 SoC, 4GB RAM announced


China based Coolpad's sub-brand Ivvi has launched the world's first smartphone to be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 430, the Ivvi i3. The phone sports a metal body with an arc design for a comfortable grip.

The Ivvi i3 feature a 5.2-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) Super AMOLED display with a layer of 2.5D glass on top and is powered by 1.4GHz octa-core Snapdragon 430 (MSM8937) paired with Adreno 505 GPU and 4GB RAM. It comes in three storage models - 32GB, 64GB and 128GB, with storage expansion support via microSD card (up to 128GB). It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.

For photography, the Ivvi i3 gets a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and PDAF, and for clicking selfies and video calling, you get a 8-megapixel front snapper. It supports 4G LTE connectivity and is fueled by 2450mAh battery that supports fast charging. 

The phone comes with dual Hybrid SIM slot, which means the second SIM tray, accepts either SIM card or microSD card. Also on-board is fingerprint sensor (FPC1035) that is located at the back, that can unclock the device in just 0.1 seconds. The phone is 6.5mm thin and weighs just 145g.

The Ivvi i3 32GB model is priced at CNY 2299 ($355 | Rs. 23,500), 64GB model is priced at CNY 2499 ($385 | Rs. 26,000), and the 128GB model costs CNY 2799 ($430 | Rs. 28,700). The phone is now up for pre-order, and will go on sale starting April 19 in China.
