Samsung refreshes Galaxy Tab S2 8.0, Galaxy Tab S2 9.7, gets Snapdragon 652 SoC
Samsung introduced the Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 and Tab S2 9.7 in July last year, and now the company has announced a refreshed version of the tablet, equipped with Snapdragon 652 SoC, instead of Exynos 5433 SoC, while the design and other specs will remain unchanged. Both the Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 and Tab S2 9.7 are listed on Germany's Cyberport.de eCommerce website.
As the name suggests the Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 features an 8-inch display, while the Tab S2 9.7 features 9.7-inch display. Both the tablets have Super AMOLED screens with 2048 x 1536 pixels resolution. Other specs except for the battery are identical.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 and Tab S2 9.7 are equipped with Snapdragon 652 processor aided by Adreno 510 GPU and 3GB RAM. On-board storage is 32GB, which can be increaded via microSD card. They run Android Marshmallow with TouchWiz UI on top. The tablets come with 8-megapixel rear camera with 2K video recording and 2.1 front shooter for video calling.
Other features include fingerprint sensor, 4G LTE (optional) dual-band WiFi and Bluetooth 4.1. The Tab S2 8.0 is fueled by 4000mAh battery, while the Tab S2 9.7 gets a bigger 5870mAh battery.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 LTE model (SM-T719N) is priced at $547, while the Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 WiFi only (SM-T813N) costs $513, and the LTE model (SM-T819N) costs $627 and is now available in Germany. They are also expected to go on sale in other markets in the coming months.
