Xiaomi Mituwatch is a GPS watch for kids
Xiaomi's is expected to foray into the smartwatch market segment in the second half of 2016, but ahead of that, the company has launched Mituwatch (or Mi Bunny), a wearable aimed at kids and their safety.
Mituwatch comes with a built-in GPS and SOS button as a safety feature, when pressed records a seven-second audio clip, and sends it to the parent's phone, along with the current location of the kid. It comes with silicone strap and an LED dot matrix which displays the time, emojis or if one of six preset contacts is calling.
The wearable come with a dedicated app, which offers some extra functions. The app lets you add 12 emergency contacts, all of who will be notified in case of emergency. It also lets parents set up secure zones for kids, so if they leave a certain area, the parents will be alerted immediately on their phone.
The Mituwatch provides industry grade audio amplifier and voice calls, and comes with a built-in Mi phone card with a 10 Yuan credit (in China). It has a built-in pedometer, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, GLONASS and is backed by 300mAh battery which is rated to deliver six days of standby time.It is compatible with Android (OS v4.2 or higher) and iOS (v8 or up) devices.
Xiaomi's Mituwatch is priced at CNY 299 ($46 | Rs. 3,050) and comes in pink and blue colors.
