Cloud-first Nextbit Robin launched in India for Rs. 19,999
San Francisco- based Nextbit has finally launched its cloud-first smartphone, the Robin in India. The Robin is priced at Rs. 19,999, and will be exclusively available for purchase on Flipkart, with shipping set to start on May 30.
The phone was initially introduced in September last year as a kickstarter campaign, and have been available in the U.S since last year, and recently started shipping to Kickstarter backers in India.
Nextbit Robin runs a custom version of Android Marshmallow, dubbed Nextbit OS. The phone comes with 'Smart Storage', which offer 100GB cloud storage to save phone data. When the device is connected to WiFi, it syncs all your data including media, apps and other content to the cloud, to free space on the device. The four lights on the back alerts users when the Robin data is uploading to cloud.
Coming to the specs, the Nextbit Robin has a 5.2-inch Full HD IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection and is powered by Snapdragon 808 processor backed by Adreno 418 GPU and 3GB RAM. On-board storage is 32GB, and the photography department gets 13MP rear camera w/ PDAF, dual-tone LED flash, and 5MP front facing camera. Connectivity duties are handled by 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and USB Type-C port. It is backed by 2680mAh battery, and has a fingerprint scanner that is embedded into the home button.
