Samsung Gear Fit 2 will pack Bio-processor, launch expected in June
The Samsung Gear Fit 2 fitness tracker and Gear IconX Bluetooth earbuds have already surface in live and render images courtesy of Evan Blass. Now a report coming from Korea states that Samsung will officially unveil the Gear Fit 2 in its home country next month.
The report says that Gear Fit 2 will utilize Samsung's own Bio-Processor chip, that was introduced last year in December for wearable products. The chip integrates five analogue front ends - one for each biometric signal, and can measure body fat, skeletal muscle mass, heart rate, heart rhythm, skin temperature and stress level.
The Gear Fit 2 will have a curved and ergonomic design, and sport a 1.84-inch Super AMOLED display. It will also come with 4GB on-board storage, and dedicated GPS support for tracking fitness related activities. Since it's a fitness treacker, it is likely to come with IP68 rating for water resistance, making it perfect for surfing, swimming and other water-based sports. It is expected to come in Black, Pink, Blue colors and be priced between $150 — $200.
