Amazon's entry-level Kindle eReader gets thinner, lighter and a new White color
Amazon has launched a refreshed model of the entry-level Kindle eReader with a thinner (9.1mm) and lighter (161g) design and has a more rounded design at the back, which makes it easier to hold with a single hand. It also gets a new White color option and comes with a couple of new features.
The new Kinde eReader supports Bluetooth audio, so that visually-impaired readers can connect wireless headphone and speakers, to use with the built-in VoiceView feature to listen to books and navigate the screen.
The Export Note feature lets you send notes and highlights to yourself through email in PDF or spreadsheet format. Other Kindle models will also get Export Note feature via software update soon. It also has an improved personalized home screen, which makes it easier to discover books, manage Amazon Wish Lists and see recommendations via Goodreads.
The new Kindle eReader comes with 6-inch 600 x 800 touch screen E-ink display, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and offers up to four weeks of battery life with wirelss connection off.
The new Amazon Kindle eReader is priced at Rs. 5,999 ($80 in the U.S) and is now available for pre-order on Amazon India. Shipping will begin July 7.
